Software as a Service, or SaaS, may be a term you’ve heard thrown around before but never really thought to look into further or figure out what it means for you or your business. A brief introduction: SaaS describes a cloud service where you can access software or applications via the internet. The service is provided via the “Cloud” (another term which is oft used in today’s business world).
Now let’s talk about the benefits of this SaaS technology and more specifically what YOU gain from it and how it pertains to your VoIP (Voice over IP) phone system:
Ease of Use Since all the technology is in the cloud it means you are not responsible for managing and setting it up. This means no servers in your office that require constant maintenance, just for a phone system. Software is updated, security is managed and any problems are fixed by the VoIP company (like us). You don’t need to devote IT resources to your phone system - you can focus on other things. All you need is an internet connection and you have access to this powerful technology.
Lower Cost As mentioned earlier, when you utilize SaaS for your phone system you have significantly less things to worry about. That means less costs for you and you see these price savings in a variety of ways. First, you don’t need to buy any hardware to start using your phone system nor do you need to spend time setting it up (at Audian we will set up your phone system free of charge). On top of that you have the savings on IT hours since the VoIP company is responsible for the maintenance. Last of all you pay on a per seat basis. Meaning if you only have 4 or 5 phones being used that’s all you’ll pay for. Nothing more.
Scalability One of the greatest benefits of using SaaS is how easy it is to grow or shrink depending on your needs. Since the infrastructure already exists it’s up to you how much of it you wish to use. If you currently have 100 phones in use and want to switch down to 50 you can do that. Or if you’re bumping up to 500 phones you can just as easily make that switch. All you need is the phone and an internet connection and you can access every single feature across every one of your phones.
